merging traces in get_acoustic_data takes forever

this might be a redundant now that the data is stored slightly differently on the raw data server. There might be a more efficient way to do this now.

Also in general there is a ton of extra handling that's no longer needed because of this update to uniform 5 minute file sizes.

This was being caused by obspy using interpolation to merge thousands of traces correct? Can we close this now that the default method is gapless merge?

This is still an issue if not using gap-less merge, and I don't believe the gapless merge method works for data before June 2023.
There is the edge case where data is available for some, but not all of the 5 min data segment and where the data is heavily fragmented. For this case, using the obspy merge (or a custom method that is faster) is still required. For this case, it would be nice if it was faster. Although this might be enough of an edge case where it's not worth trying to make it faster.

Maybe we should open a new issue for extending gapless merge to work with all data on OOI server (before and after June 2023)
