i hate the antartic bird mod for a few reasons:
- the community. why allow swear words and other weird stuff? it's like an edgy teenager version of TurboWarp. as a teenager myself, it's humiliating to be associated with this. I want omniblocks to be mentionable on Scratch too, since I basically grew up on scratch.
- their code sucks. im gonna say it. it sucks. they never updated their stuff from upstream and just sit down and resolve conflicts manually. it would've taken an hour max. their commits are also disorganized, adding unfinished and broken stuff to main. their commit names have swear words. I upload unfinished commits too, but to FEATURE BRANCHES!! THAT'S THE POINT. anyways, now they're suffering the consequences of their actions, or rather lack thereof, since they're having to basically rewrite it in a months long effort to keep up with the years of technical debt they accumulated like true procrastinators.
but I gotta, admit, most of their extensions they have are really cool. Newsflash: literally all of those work in TurboWarp, except for a few which have custom added bindings in scratch-blocks, vm and gui. The solution? I'm gonna port those myself here.
But how do we go about doing so? There are 3 categories in the extensoins library: Scratch, TurboWarp, and OmniBlocks. flightless bird mod has tons of cool extensions, but again, I don't want to mention it as it is banned in Scratch. I don't want to add them under the OmniBlocks category either since it feels wrong and plagiarizing. A solution could be listing it under our category but crediting the authors themselves of each individual extension.
