Hi! Thanks for reaching out! The turboprop module is pretty intricate, so there are lots of places this may have gone wrong. Have you tried running your Can you elaborate a little on the disconnect between GASP & FLOPS engine decks? We currently don't have any FLOPS-based turboshaft engine decks included in any Aviary examples, so I could use some clarification. What specific issues are you seeing? It's hard to tell if your problem is actually related to the turboprop component itself, or a general aircraft sizing problem (such as an engine-airframe mismatch, making it impossible to fly the mission). Speaking of that, the turboprop model used on the freighter example likely won't work as a drop-in replacement for most of the other aircraft examples like advanced single aisle because it is a significantly lower thrust engine. You could try scaling the turboprop up by a factor of about 5 or 6, but I don't think the propeller model will handle that well. |

FYI I have been working on a set of examples for the turboprop freighter using both the 2DOF and height-energy equations of motion but that has been sidelined for the last couple months. I'm starting to work on that again, it is likely I had some bugfixes in that code that hasn't been able to make it into Aviary yet and that I have since forgotten about... |

Hello!
Background:
I have spent a decent amount of time trying to get the turboprop freighter aircraft working in the Aviary examples. I am working on a design team to build a conceptual model of a Search and Rescue aircraft. As the propulsion lead, I am interested to get the turboshaft engine deck with propeller additions working to use as a turboprop propulsion module. I have been relatively unsuccessful in my attempts to get the turboprop working in multiple different configurations. I have attempted to "retro-fit" the turboprop engines onto existing aircraft models that are running like the advanced single aisle. I have also tried creating an external subsystem that models the propeller with little success. After some digging, it seems to me there is a disconnect between the GASP and FLOPS based engine decks which may be causing some issues. Our team as a whole has had trouble getting GASP based models to work for most applications.

Thank you!
