Can't Import SPC Files from Other Games

I know doing this is probably impossible, but it won't let me import SPC Files from other games.

Which game are you trying to import music from? EBMusEd only knows how to import music from games that use simple variants of Nintendo's music engine (that engine is usually called "N-SPC" or "Kankichi-kun").

I was trying to import a fanmade song cover (the p eek) for super mario world into EBMusEd.

Are the two games' music formats different?

Different enough that it's not a simple copy-paste job, yeah.

Super Mario World, Pilotwings, and the various versions of the AddMusic* engine that romhackers write music for are based on a fairly early "prototype" version of the Nintendo engine, and it assigns commands to different numbers than later versions of the engine, including the version used in EarthBound. (AddMusicK and all of those fan-made engines also add a bunch of new commands into the mix, for more advanced effects.)

Right now, ebmused only supports games where a simple copy-paste job is possible. I don't know if there are any plans to change that.

(Personally, I'm kind of interested in supporting different kinds of MML in ebmused besides raw hex, which might make ports like this easier if you have the original txt file. But that's probably not happening anytime soon.)

Every single Final Fantasy game is a completely different sound driver, Square/Minoru Akao (and different builds and command ID shuffling to boot!), unlike Super Mario World, Pilotwings (both of these are relocation-related for the most part) and Addmusic (may have extra commands that don't port over, with Super Mario World as the base). Within the context of the terminology I hear on SMWCentral, which has a collection of the Addmusic songs in question, I consider that particular case to require a port from one sound driver to the other.
