Limit on students and Hidden students?

Should we manually limit how many students can be in the database or displayed on the page?

Also, what if we want to keep ID's of past members, like alumni or member's who no longer attend, but the displayed list is too large and cumbersome? Perhaps we can add a field for "Hidden" in our json that will prevent populating that person, but still, maintain records of their existence.
