Outline

Convex is a popular backend platform — it handles the server-side stuff (database, cloud functions, etc.) so developers can focus on building their app (Similar to Firebase or Supabase). It's especially popular with developers building AI-powered apps.

@richardsolomou has been leading a super integration effort over three surface areas:

  1. Logs & Error Tracking integrations: This would make PostHog a first-party destination option in the Convex dashboard, right alongside Axiom, Datadog, and Sentry. Developers pick PostHog from a list and their backend logs and errors start flowing in.
  2. PostHog Convex component: Convex has a component ecosystem (like plugins) where developers install packages to extend their backend. This component connects frontend and backend user identity, so events from both sides are stitched into one user journey. It also enables server-side event capture and feature flags from within Convex functions (basically PostHog product analytics and feature flags out of the box).
  3. LLM Analytics Convex dev-agent: Convex's @convex-dev/agent package is one of the most popular ways to build AI agents in the Convex ecosystem. This integration with PostHog's LLM Analytics product will give developers observability over those agents — cost, latency, model performance, etc.

The Convex folks are super on board to co-market, so we'll do something similar to what Sara published for the Vercel integration launch.

Technical Requirements

  • Standard blog header image size
  • please include the PostHog and convex logos like you did for the Vercel image (Convex brand assets here)

Visual concept

Here's an idea, but feel free to take the imagery elsewhere!

  1. Two hedgehogs making a quilt together. Either one cool image made up of smaller patches, or a basic patchwork with simple icons representing the backend or front end components of an app (no words). Maybe this is how you integrate the convex and posthog logos?(Close-up: looks modular. Wide shot: it’s seamless). This also feels nice because convex and PostHog are both open source and quilts can be representative of community contributions.

Deadline

Within two weeks would be great!
