Hi Everyone,

My background is in Mechatronics and Embedded Systems. As an engineer I focused on system design/integration and firmware development in C/C++. I am currently the director of software at a medical device company. The teams I manage include: the core team (full-stack engineers), algorithms (emphasis on image processing and signal modeling), and embedded software/firmware.

We operate in an regulated IVD environment as a Class 2/Class B medical device. Our ecosystem comprises a physical device coupled with on-prem PC-based software. We also have cloud infrastructure which supports data harvesting (for regulatory surveillance, R&D, and customer service), license management, R&D biologics development, business application interconnects, and OEM partnerships.

My activities currently include (in order of time spent):

1. Product strategy
2. Feature definition and roadmap
3. Patent strategy and execution
4. Regulatory strategy and execution
5. Personnel management (hiring, reviews, etc.)
6. Code reviews
7. Manufacturing support
