What is this?
Filters contain different information about a user. This information could be a filled-in number (like weight/height), predefined information (relationship status, looking for, smoking, cannabis, drinking, etc.), multiple selections, date (last STD test, last time gone to movies, etc.).
What is this for?
Filters are the bread and butter that allow people to match with each other. This enables people to search for people based on similar interests, their different habits, and various other things about the person.
How does this work?
A user can fill out any filters they wish to be searchable by. If someone is searching for something the user doesn’t have filled out, their profile will not show since it is important that the other person has that thing displayed about them. If it isn’t important to the person filling out their profile, then the searching won’t want to see them anyway. So if someone is a smoker and you don’t want to be with someone who smokes you can filter them out to never see them.
Filter Page / Category Page
When tapping on the filter from the list, it brings up the filter page. The page contains the following:
Creation
A “Add New Filter” button/bubble at the end of the filter list. This brings up a custom filter creator page that contains the following:
Filters cannot be created with the same Name and Type. This is because users can adjust the filter to their needs (adding additional things if they are missing, most used options show first).
Enforcement
Filters are an essential component of the system and users need to be accurate as these can be non-negotiable topics. When creating the filter, users are given the option to make this filter BANNABLE if people set this and it isn’t accurate. By default, it will be off, but if they reach a serious topic that many people relate to, then they can enable this to make this topic more secure against falsifying.
Dynamic
All filters are dynamic (See Dynamic Filters).
Examples
Multiple of the same filters
There may come a time when a user creates a filter, but it doesn’t meet up to the filter’s potential when it is a multiple choice compared to a multi-select. In this case, there are multiple of the same filter created.
