Panel Icon Misaligned

The Icon is misaligned on the panel below On ZoringOS 18 (GNOME 46).

Yes, I am aware of the issue. I was using a character for simplicity but will be changing it to an icon in the next release.
In some fonts (especially Noto Sans, DejaVu Sans, etc.), this character may have a large descender or overshoot below baseline, causing it to appear shifted upward relative to adjacent icons or text in the panel.
GNOME 46 tightened panel styling and icon alignment, making such subtle font quirks more visible.

If this is too annoying and you cannot wait for the next release ( I will be targeting the new versions of Gnome first), you can try replacing the tall character yourself. This advice should be taken at your discretion and only if you feel comfortable editing the code. The edit is simple but here is a disclaimer:

You are modifying code in a GNOME extension. This is an unsupported, developer-level change.
While this fix is deemed safe and commonly done, the extension maintainer is not responsible for any issues — such as broken behavior, loss of settings, or instability — that may result from editing files manually. Always make a backup first.
(GNOME may overwrite your changes on extension updates.)

1. Open your extension folder
   In Files (GNOME Nautilus) or in a terminal, navigate to:

~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/blurt@quantiusbenignus.local/

#or in terminal:
cd $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/blurt@quantiusbenignus.local/

Make a backup of the file to be edited: extension.js (strongly recommended)
Rename the copy to extension.js.bak
(This lets you restore it easily if something goes wrong)

Edit extension.js:
Right-click extension.js → Open with Text Editor
Then press Ctrl + F
Search for:

\u{1E04}

Replace it with:

\u{1F3A4}

(This changes the icon to the microphone emoji 🎤)

It should look like this:

    // (in the `enable()` method):
    this._iconLabel = new St.Label({
        text: '\u{1F3A4}',   // you changed it from '\u{1E04}'
        style_class: STYLE_NORMAL,
    });

Save the file, then restart GNOME Shell:
Press Alt + F2 , type r in the dialog box, and press Enter.

Your icon will now be 🎤 and (hopefully) align properly in the panel.
