Wouldn't it be possible to add the shortcut configuration to the extension configuration?

Keeping my own version just because of that issue and requirement to follow your development plus rebuilding the extension very time is not super convenient...

I like keeping it simple, but of course it is possible. You need to recompile only the schema if you change the shortcut and that is a single command as shown in the README.
If you prefer having a GUI interface for that, feel free to implement it and submit a pull request.
I can also look into it when I find some time.
