General: As the kids are setting things up, make sure to remind them that the e-mail address used to setup the Alexa App is exactly the same as the e-mail address used to setup the Amazon Developer account.

On page 5:

  • Make the link in Step 6 clickable (comment also applies to all other links in the PDF)
  • State that Enable encryption helpers and Environment variables can remain untouched
  • State that nothing needs to be done for Tags and Advanced settings sections
  • Discuss what Handler and Role mean (in case some curious kids ask :)
  • Discuss what's in the code for the Lambda that we're pasting. Again, for kids that don't want to blindly copy-paste, but really want to know the code they're using

On page 6:

  • Point out that the Welcome to your cookbook, ask me some questions and I'll try to answer! phrase in the execution result is the same as the value mentioned in LaunchRequest function of the Lambda

On page 7:

On page 9:

  • Make the link under Step 13 clickable
  • State that the slots section can remain untouched

On page 11:

  • State that Permissions section can remain untouched
  • State that Publishing Information may be skipped
    • Also discuss that publishing is required so that everybody's Alexas may use this skill. But right now, our Alexa is able to use our skill because they're both using the same Amazon account
