Description
Since there are currently several projects dealing with the recreation of the PS2 R&C engines, such as Ratchet and Clank VR, Ratchet and Clank: Going Unreal, and Ratchet & Clank: Premature Release, we can assume that remakes of the original games would indeed be possible without decompiling the original code, as the OpenGoal project is aiming to do for the Jak and Daxter series.
However, one of the biggest challenges would be how to integrate the original cutscenes and their camera movements into such a remake, as these are still inaccessible and recreating them manually would be far too laborious. I assume that it would be a great advantage for developers working on R&C-related projects if these animations could be retrieved using Replanetizer.
I see that the development of Replanetizer has stalled a bit lately, but maybe that will change one day and someone will be interested in developing such a feature.
(We could also gain some interesting off-camera insights from that, as they did in J&D).
