Consider using skopeo sync

It allows having an yaml file with a list of images, tags, and digests, instead of a txt file (list of image referneces) + custom shell script. The yaml file could include both MicroShift images and application images

See the blog, skopeo sync may be useful only for the first part (internet to directory) and not help at all for the second part (directory to priv registry) which is the one learners perform in this course.
