Why would this feature be useful?

This will need to be handled by someone who wants it & cares.

HD rumble is a gimmick, rumble as a whole is frankly. It just makes the controller annoying to hold.

If someone wants HD rumble, they will need to implement it themselves (and submit it to us, if they want). We're not going to spend time on this when the emulator already has regular rumble.

Isn't life a gimmick with that view? Anyways, now if only I knew how to do it then i wouldn't have made a request here now would i?

I never said you had to. Just that we aren't. Alternatively I could have said nothing and closed the issue, instead of leaving that note for whoever may come across it.

It's additional data every user has to download
In a case like this, that's not acceptable, not everyone has HD Rumble let alone wants to use it

In other cases it would be fine, if doing so fixed a massive issue or effectively did a bunch of stuff for you so you don't have to write it, such as SDL; but this isn't

and honestly if I'm remembering correctly I think SDL3 has HD rumble support, I saw something like that in passing, so I don't think we'd even need a new dependency, if someone wanted to bother to do it

Not sure.
I don't even know if we have a way of knowing when the game sends HD rumble, then forwarding that to our own controller handler.

I've been programming for 8 years, and I still don't want to do it. It's probably not too hard, but I wouldn't know
