As I discussed in my email to Nico on 5/22...
There are two hidden data sets on the CIRS volumes. They are in the EXTRAS/SURFTEMP and EXTRAS/VERTPROF directories. I suggest we transfer them to individual, new volumes COCIRS_2001 and COCIRS_2002 as a step toward their migration to PDS4.
The files *README.TXT are already organized as DATASET.CAT files. Other CATALOG files could be copied directly from the existing volumes.
A sensible organization would be DATA/year/month, following the existing volume names. The files should be copied from the _v3 volumes because those labels contain the original publication dates. (However, _v3 ends with volume _1706 so we would need to fill in the last few months of the tour from v4.)
Note that the SURFTEMP DATA_SET_ID is "CO-T-CIRS-5-TSURF-V1.0", where "T" is for Titan. Should be "CO-SA-CIRS-5-TSURF-V1.0".
For SURFTEMP, we should rename the .ASC files to .TAB or .CSV and include actual column descriptions in the new labels.
