FYI,
Currently, we have an automatic way of creating weights of finite-difference of arbitrary order of derivative, for arbitrary grid spacing. Thus now we have the capability of creating finite-difference stencils in a simple way.
The initial two references marked as done are implemented as fornberg algorithm as an API feature for this purpose.
This paves a path forward for creating stencils for differential operators that are commonly available in CFD, eg, curl, div, grad, Laplacian,. etc.
