want to use a newer Storefront API version than the current Hydrogen version

Hello,
I’m currently using Hydrogen v2025.07.0.
I’d like to use the Storefront API version 2025-10 in order to work with nested cart lines. Do I need to wait until Hydrogen v2025.10.0 is released? (If the release date has been decided, I’d like to know)

Alternatively, is there a way to change the Storefront API version used by Hydrogen?

We are planning to release 2025.10.0 soon after the official API release.

You can however override the default SFAPI version for any request via the context.storefront options

Thanks for the update.

It looks like 2025-10 is already the latest on shopify.dev. Should I expect its release next week?

I get that context.storefront can set a version, but I’d rather keep cart operations under context.cart in Hydrogen.
Is there a way to accomplish cart interactions without moving to context.storefront?

We are still doing a little catch up, but we should have 2025.10.0 out within the next couple of weeks.

I would like to use the API version released in October, but November is almost over.
I hope it will be released as soon as possible.

Im building a custom headless hydrogen site - I have

no errors in my terminal or console, but when I run npm run dev - I get this in my local terminal -

what API should I be running that is compatible with this hydrogen/react

@bodhisunn-dev Can you try updating to the latest Hydrogen version? You also may want to double check that your Storefront API token is working properly by making some Storefront API calls outside of Hydrogen (eg: with the Storefront API client) to confirm whether the issue is with Hydrogen or your setup :)

We have now released Hydrogen support for SF API versions 2025-10 and 2026-01! We are also improving the systems + processes in Hydrogen so that in the future it will be significantly easier for us to stay on top of these releases and not leave the community waiting.
