Why does Shopify exclusively deploy Hydrogen on Oxygen and no longer support it on other platforms?

I need a convincing explanation from the Shopify Dev team regarding this issue. Hydrogen has developed Storefront very well, but I'm unhappy with the Storefront deployment.

I'm a freelance Shopify developer, and I hope that in the future Hydrogen will support deployment on other platforms instead of relying solely on Oxygen, as that would be limiting.

Besides deploying on Oxygen, I want to be able to deploy on my own server/VPS that I've purchased so that I can conveniently demo multiple storefronts to clients.
