H2 is great but it is lacking some of the features from H1, i.e. no server-side / CDN caching, no 3rd party analytics solution, removed test framework, and no custom logger for the server(Oxygen) debugging. Personally, I feel it is a bit rushed to be released as a major stable version.
A lot of the merchants who have been building with H1 may not want to upgrade to H2 just yet due to the above so we still need our H1 docs to be hosted somewhere.
Since the release of H2, the H1 docs have been relegated to a Github repo which significantly degrades the experience of using the docs. I would have preferred a versioned docs solution where you can switch between the two. There are some docs that are orphaned,
such as this one and this one(they now have been deleted and redirected).Hiding the docs in a Github repo has made things needlessly more difficult for us and I’m sure others who are close to an H1 launch. Since you’re still supporting H1 and even recommending projects that are far along in dev to go live with it, you really need to keep the docs alive.
