Logging to the snakemake log file

I wondered if it is possible to make log entries to the main snakemake logfile from the submit or status script?

I haven't tried it, but in other components like wrappers you can do:

from snakemake.logging import logger

logger.warning(f'WARNING: blah')

I would guess this works in profiles, but you'd need to test.

Thank you for the reply. Your code produce a nice output message. But it doesn’t print it to the main snakelike log file. Any ideas. I used. logger.info
