I have an issue in my personal genealogy endeavors. I use Ancestry.com to find records, and Geni.com to find people. Keeping my trees in sync between both platforms is a challenge. What are some ways that software can help keep them in sync?
Unfortunately, Ancestry.com does not (currently) make their API public, so this can't be automated.
One idea I had: if my main genealogy app would keep track of every edit I make (an audit trail), I can then represent that as a to-do list for changes to make across platforms. This would get complicated if we wanted to enable undoing and redoing actions, getting close to a full-blown Version Control System.
