Just in case, let me confirm that I am using Windows and there is an issue with aegisub.text_extents being inaccurate on Windows

Yes. I guess I didn't describe this in too much detail in #485. The longer version is that aegisub.text_extents is passable on Windows but can also break in cases like these, and is much worse on other platforms.

Either way, the only way to reliably fix this is to finish libass/libass#856 and use the resulting API in Aegisub. Which I still hope to do eventually, but there's just a lot to do right now.
