Description:

  • Look at Cartographer documentation and understand how it maps
  • Investigate using our own odom vs feeding in sensors to Cartographer
  • Is it convenient to use the transforms that it publishes? Any inaccuracies?
    Test for both sim+IRL

Goals:

  • Determine whether feeding sensors into Cartographer is "better" than using our own odometry
  • "Better" = speed, accuracy,...
