Consideration of disabling DNS lookups

Tom passed along this note about current rstats and DNS lookups

rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu is running an old LDM version (not relevant)
that was modified to not do IP -> fully_qualified_hostname lookups.
The reason this modification was made was we found that the LDM was
not keeping up with processing all of the rtstats reports being
received. I must quickly add, however, that this situation was when
the hardware that was rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu was very old, and the
OS was Solaris. So, if you notice any problems in processing all
of the rtstats reports that you are getting, it may be necessary to
apply the code mod to your LDM.

With my demonstration server, I only have one upstream host (rtstats.unidata), so I don't see the high new LDM connection rates that they do. Will be interesting to see if this causes trouble with the eventual implementation at Unidata.
