Facebook login is not working when the FB app is not available in Huawei devices

While implementing the Facebook login using below the link, It's working on Huawei devices when it has the Facebook App, But it's not working when the FB app is not available(not opening the Huawei browser for logging in).

Could you please help to see if the Facebook page is blocked by Huawei browser? Or is there any Log that can be shared with us? We will also test your attached file.

Huawei browser can support custom tabs. It's assured by Huawei support team. Please test the APK which I have shared you on the earlier conversation. Also look at the dependency file for reference.

Facebook App is not available in App gallery, Now user while clicking on the Facebook login button then it takes to the browser only right ? then how to resolve this issue ?

According to this Facebook policy change, the SDK needs to be updated, and the customTabActivity related need to be removed, please adjust according to the Facebook guide: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/android/deprecating-webviews

The Auth plug-in itself may not need a fix, because auth login can be used, but the problem is now Facebook deprecated Android Webview, so your APP will need to do some configuration follow their instructions, they are mainly including:


• Ensure that you have upgraded to version 8.2.0 or later of the Facebook SDK for Android
  —> you can update it in the MainTemplate.gradle file in your Unity project from 4.2.0 to ’com.facebook.android:facebook-android-sdk:8.20.0'

• Ensure that your app has configured support for Custom Tabs

  —> you can follow Facebook documentation

• Remove “CustomTabMainActivity” or “CustomTabActivity” referencing
  --> in AndroidManifest.xml file in your Unity project

Please give it a try, we will also do a test, keep in touch.

Hello, could you provide us with a detailed log of these errors in your second screenshot? So that we can look into the specific reasons for your project's errors

Guessing it is related to the Android version, so which Andriod version is being used?

Android 6.0 for minimum target and mobile tested version is Android 10. I just want to know that, Did you guys tried out this part from your end (With/Without Facebook App)?

I will suggest you to try this Facebook function yourself and provide the sample.

Hi. Sorry for not replying asap.
We tried both (With & Without Facebook App), using Facebook latest version SDK(8.2+)

The result:

1. When there with a Facebook App, the login function is working fine(Success)
2. Without Facebook App, with Google Chrome browser, login webpage can be triggered(Success), and no blocking message.
3. Without Facebook App, without Google Chrome, login webpage also can be triggered(Success), and request to add custom tab following their documentation(Facebook new policy)

P.S.
For your previous error screenshot of androidx.core, if that error still exists in your project, you can share the logs for us to try to look in.

Is this project need unity 2020.3.+ version ?
