During the SRC hackathon, some interesting things were shown regarding R, that might be worth considering in the future:
- Rkward: IDE for R that is somewhere in between RStudio and SPSS, which means, one can do basic statistics and data cleaning without programming in R, and export the resulting R script. Looks new and not widely adopted yet.
- r2u: Ubuntu binaries for R, could solve the long package installs on Ubuntu (tidyverse takes now 30 minutes).
