35 years experience but new to Blazor and Valour, forgive me - but I have some questions

Can someone explain to me the difference conceptually (Valour speak) between an Api and a service. Why the distinction? I noticed Api's are routable, are they simply traditional controllers? The SDK project, I notice its referenced by both the Blazor client and the Server project which I found interesting. Is that mostly a client interface to the backend Api, with cross referenced models for convenience? Lastly, why the use of a customized ValourRoute attribute instead of simply Route? Thank you
