It would be nice if uploads could stick around as long as the account that posted them still exists.
I get that hosting uploads can get expensive, but it feels worth it in the long run. Servers often act as long term records, and when uploads disappear the discussions around them lose context. A lot of people use Discord for product management and documentation, so automatic deletion makes it harder to reference past work or understand decisions later on.
It also makes onboarding new people tougher when files that discussions depend on are gone. Having reliable uploads makes the platform more useful over time and makes people more comfortable contributing since they know what they share won’t vanish later.
