I tried many proposed fixes from internet including module blacklists and kernel options to disable various power states, system bells, and various asound.state files published on the internet as well as muting some channels in alsamixer.
I am using PulseAudio but also tried removing that and installing PipeWire but the chirp persisted.
I tried the script with both SST and SOF options. SOF did not work and gave only "Dummy Output". SST is the script option that worked.
The script gives this warning: "Warning: Kernel is missing module 'SND_SOC_SOF_BAYTRAIL', audio may not work." I installed Debian from the netinst image from debian.org so I am not sure why it would be missing. I'm not sure how to compile a module from source and everything works except for the loud chirp so I am hoping there is an easier workaround.
