won`t open in arch linux

This seems to be an issue with the PKGBUILD. Can you verify the location that the package installs the game data? It is looking in '/usr/local/share/games/abuse/data/' which doesn't seem right. On my system (also using Arch, though using the apancik fork), it is '/usr/share/games/abuse/data'. Based on the version listed in your log (2025.1.0.0), perhaps you are also using the apancik fork?

I tried compiling it both from the AUR and from the source, and I get the same error. I can't confirm whether the directories exist because I no longer have the OS.

Whenever you want to try again, you can use DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX to select the directory you want the data to go. Your issue is that the data files are not installed where the game is searching.
