Device identity forgotten between reboots

Just had this happen to me but don't have the time to gather info about why at the moment. Device showed up as "Unknown Device" in audio pin after a reboot and had to be re-added to the priority list. 

Making a note of the issue here so that it's known in case anyone else runs into the same problem. Will investigate when I have a chance.
