I tested the Revert UI on a small changeset and it worked fine, thanks.

However for a more complex changeset, or in case conflicts have been solved by your three-way merge as mentioned, some more detailed documentation of the expected behaviour would be helpful, along with a Preview of the revert changeset, maybe with a final confirmation.

What are the "Way and relation structural changes" that cannot be reverted?

Making a preview of a changeset is not a simple task: you have to pull all objects and their references and to make an interactive maps and all that. And I wanted just to make a simple web interface to the simple-revert script :)

By structural changes I mean nodes and relation members. If you modify the geometry of a way, and somebody else does that after you, then you cannot revert the first change with this script or revertui, you'll have to use josm's reverter in that case. But if a revert can be done without conflicts, then it is possible with revertui / simple-revert.

So what is the feedback from revertUI when it cannot resolve the conflict? Will it fail gracefully, or leave a half-done revert? If I have to test that beforehand in JOSM I'd lose the simplicity of the browser-based revert.

It doesn't do anything half-way. It either reverts all changesets you feed it, or does nothing. In the latter case it of course prints the error it received.
