Import not working

I copied the git repository and tried to execute the python file (Windows 10, python 3.10 installed for all users). This way has already worked for me some months ago with an earlier version of python3 (probably 3.7-3.9). So I think it has to do with recent changes either made to simple-revert or made to python.
I also tried using ubuntu in WSL2 with python 2.7, which didn't work either.

Yeah, now it won't work that way. You've got two options:

• Do pip install --user simple_revert and then use the scripts installed to your path: e.g. simple_revert 543847.
• Run scripts as modules from a root repo directory: python3 -m simple_revert.simple_revert 543847

I'd recomment the pip option, since it's more flexible. E.g. you can install simple_revert into a virtual environment, to confine dependencies.

Interesting. I was not aware of the second option. Maybe it could be added in the README.
