Improve search

We can add different fields for searching by artist, album, song and others.

You are definitely right that we need to improve our searching. However, I think that just improving our search algorithm would remove the need for an advanced search. Currently, the algorithm is essentially:

Get songs where title contains OR artist contains OR album contains .

If we actually search on individual tokens of the search and return results based on relevance, it would be very nice.

I kinda agree with Zech on this. I prefer the simpler single search box design over multiple search boxes. Is there anyone actually using search for artists and albums? Maybe we can prioritize song search over the others. Search by relevance is a really good idea too.

You can always add a toggle for going between normal or advanced search. I
prefer to just use the single box to search but sometimes I an looking for
a song with a term that is very common. It is always nice to have the
ability to do an advanced search. On the worst case scenario it should only
affect the expert users.

Yay! Commit 40d6801 seems to have greatly improved search times. Though I also went back to multiple search boxes; it allows for more relevant search results.

Once the results are retrieved from the local cache database, they should be further prioritized. Exact matches should be shown first, followed by matches where the string begins with the query, followed by all others. Within each category it shouldn't matter too much how the results are sorted, but it would be nice to start using the 'popularity' column of the songs table.
