CQ macro terminates

Using the macro for CQ terminates randomly. Was on 20M with an SWR of 1.4 at 50 drive sending "CQ CQ CQ DE KO0NCE KO0NCE KO0NCE AR K".

I noticed that if I turned down the drive the message would get further. The unit was getting quite hot, but not too hot to hold for an extended period. If I let the unit cool, it was able to complete the transmission. I also noticed that in this mode at times the pwr output would briefly read 6W despite being set to a low drive level.

Can anyone confirm this behavior?

Some additional info. When the unit is in FT8 it outputs the power selected. However, in Digi, it seems to ignore the power setting on the radio and instead outputs 6W plus... according to the zbit display.
