I downloaded Gemma 4 2B model and App crash continuisly. I can not use local model. Cloud model works fine.

I pushed a startup hardening pass in v0.6.1:

The main change here is that if the risky GPU/OpenCL startup path blows up, PokeClaw should recover into a CPU-safe mode instead of getting stuck retrying the same unstable backend.

Can you update to 0.6.1 and try the local model again? I'm keeping this open until we get confirmation back from affected devices.

JNI Crash (io.agents.pokeclaw): This application was crashing in the nativeCreateConversation method due to a mid == null error (failure to access the JNI method). This is likely caused by a Java-Native signature mismatch resulting from ProGuard/obfuscation.

I pushed another hardening pass in v0.6.2:

This one is aimed specifically at the local-model crash family. Besides the CPU-safe fallback work, the release build now keeps the LiteRT-LM JNI wrapper classes stable. That should help with the nativeCreateConversation / mid == null crash you reported.

Can you try 0.6.2 and let me know if the local model still crashes on startup?

This should be better in v0.6.3 as well, but since you already confirmed 0.6.2 fixed the local model crash on your side, I'm closing this one.

If the same crash comes back on 0.6.3 or later, reopen it and I'll pick it up again.

We also shipped another follow-up hardening release in v0.6.4: https://github.com/agents-io/PokeClaw/releases/tag/v0.6.4\n\nThe main addition here is better handling for devices that had previously gotten stuck in CPU-safe mode after a local GPU init failure. If you test local mode again on 0.6.4 and notice anything new, feel free to drop it here.
