Saving layouts adds unnecessary bloat to the code

When saving a layout file, unnecessary code such as
"highlightStarMask":0,"highlightOffset":0,
"useExtraIcon":false
"redOutline":null,"greenOutline":null,"invertedStar":null,"extraStar":null,
and
"useEmptyStars":false
is added.
Also the code for Star Icons is often changed and made unnecessarily longer.
