Hi i want to use your project now i am in a planing phase
I have solis S6-EH3P15K-H instead of raspberry pi i want to use dell optiplex micro computer also i will be using daly 48s li ion bms.
What should i buy to get communication between bms to dell optiplex and dell optiplex to the inverter
Should i use usb to rs485 adapter ?
Any tips? I am pretty new at this any feedback is appreciated

Instead of using one 48s bms can i use instead 2 24s bms and connect the in series?

I would need some more information about your project. Your Solis apparently supports CAN and RS485. What does your Daly BMS support. Do you have a CAN enabled Daly (especially ordered/enabled via their sales team)?
I would recommend using CAN if possible.
How to connect your batteries depends on the specification of your batteries. I see the S6 is a high voltage inverter so you'll need to go with a voltage of 120-800V. Now it all depends on the voltage of your batteries and if you have enough to connect them in series (same voltage, increasing amps)

I will be ordering daly bms 48s li ion with can support
I will be using jaguar I-pace battery modules i have about 16 of the and they are 3s modules so the whole battery pack voltage should be about 176V

@svajuss ok, that sounds good.
Just make sure to contact Daly sales team as their BMS are advertised as supporting CAN but you need to have them specifically ordered via the sales team otherwise they'll most likely lack the CAN chip. Others and myself too had to make that experience unfortunately resulting in buying new BMSes with CAN activated. I still have 8 lying around that were advertised to support CAN/RS485/Bluetooth but do not.
If you're using a Dell Optiplex make sure to install a Linux system like Ubuntu. About hardware I'm not so sure. We've had a few USB sticks that did not work. Make sure it supports CAN 2.0A and 2.0B and supports the linux SocketCAN library. These were working best.

Maybe you had tried usb to can from daly bms. Or should i consider seting up on raspberry pi with waveshare 2 channel can hat?
What type a raspberry could you recommend maybe it's only enough to use 2gb ram model?
