It seem that the VFX platform is PySide 2.0 and PyQt 5.0, this is still PyQt4

It makes it impossible to open up abcview within the GUI of modern DCC packages.

Would you consider making it dependant on https://github.com/mottosso/Qt.py

This way it can run in all possible configurations.
