"Point-lookup is also supported for joining features (e.g., Lookup multimodal features) Sheng et al. (2024)." Does the feature data store in local or remote? If the feature data get from remote, how to reduce the cost for communication when the the data is big?

Point-lookup is an internal feature so far, which depends on distributed file system.
​​For example, we query an image by its ID, fetch the image data from a remote source, and then process it through an image encoder.​
The query runs asynchronously in the background. Therefore, if the computation time exceeds the query time, the overhead is completely hidden.
