Description
TASKS
Multipactor is an effect where an avalnche of electrons exponentially grows in numbers due to second electron emission (SEE) from the device walls. Since higher SEY material occurs more SEE, which causes beam instability, beam pipes and electrodes of accelerators should be made of low SEY materials in order to suppress multipactor[1].
In this projects, I will find some candidate material for coating inside of the beam electrode. To do so, I will calculate workfunction, fermi-level energy, and energy loss function of certain material with DFT (or maybe other simulation softwares).
TODO
- Simulate workfunction #2
- Simulate fermi-level energy #3
- Simulate Energy Loss Function (ELF) #4
- Simulate second electron yield (SEY) #5
