ARM64 Builds

Test builds for ARM64-based systems are now available, but assistance is needed to verify their functionality. Examples of supported builds include:

• notesium-linux-arm64: ARM-based desktops, laptops, or Raspberry Pi
• notesium-darwin-arm64: Apple Silicon (e.g., M1, M2 Macs)
• notesium-windows-arm64.exe: ARM-based PCs, such as Surface Pro X

How to Test

1. Download the build artifact (scroll to the bottom of the page).
2. Extract the appropriate binary for your OS from build.zip.
3. Run the version command as a basic test, e.g., ./notesium-linux-arm64 version --verbose.
4. For a more thorough test, use Notesium as you normally would (CLI, Web, Vim integration).

How to Report Results

Whether the test is successful or fails, please provide the following details:

• Hardware: Specify your device (e.g., Raspberry Pi 4, M1 MacBook Air, Surface Pro X).
• OS and Version: Include the operating system and version number.
• Steps to Reproduce: If applicable, describe how the issue occurred.
• Error Messages: Copy any relevant error messages or logs.

The macOS build might require additional steps to run because it is not yet signed and notarized with an Apple Developer account. Signing and notarization would ensure the binary is recognized as safe by macOS Gatekeeper. Until this is set up, you may need to remove the quarantine attribute to run the binary:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine notesium-darwin-arm64

Just to confirm, you mean that the notesium-darwin-arm64 binary from the build artifact worked, right?
Did you need to remove the quarantine attribute to run the binary (xattr -d com.apple...)?

(edit: ignore this, can by building from source) is there a way to update to the 0.6.2 release with the test build?

Right, you can build from source. Additionally, as soon as the arm64 support is merged into master, they will be available as build artifacts for every merge going forward. Lastly, I'll include this in the upcoming 0.6.3 release which should drop in a day or 2.

@kaylaxc - v0.6.3 has been released (with arm64 builds). The installation examples in the readme have also been updated to dynamically determine the architecture. Thanks again for your help!
