Upgrading to 3.0 breaks widgetStyles

I recently updated to 3.0 and my widgetStyles passed via prop are no longer being applied. I also noticed there is no release history, changelog or documentation on possible breaking changes when upgrading to 3.0.

Is this docmented anywhere? And if not can we get some documentation around the major update?
