Multi-platform support and ubiquity

I'd like to make a version of this that is ubiquitous. I'm envisioning adding the following features:

• Light/Dark theme based on how Firefox is configured
• Cleaning up the specific issues with Windows/Mac/Linux
• Having an option for a background image, but not having it enabled by default.

Would you accept pull requests to move in that direction or should I make a fork?

I'd be willing to accept pull requests towards that direction (bit iffy on #3 but OK)
