Regenerating content is changing modified date of all blog posts

Just re-generating the site (but not changing the content) should not change these modification dates.

I’d like to work on this issue if it’s still open.
I’ve been looking into how article:modified_time is currently generated and have some ideas to ensure it doesn’t change on site regeneration when content hasn’t changed (e.g. relying on persisted metadata / git history instead of build time).

Feel free but check if it is still doing it - it is an old issue - might be solved aleeady
