Determining if file is situated locally or in iCloud

Hi,

Is there any way to determine if a given file is located wholly locally or if it is in iCloud?

I want to avoid potentially prompting files in the cloud from being downloaded to the device.

In what way are you trying to interact with files, if using AFC as far as I know they are always local although I could be mistaken.
