GUI exits completely when using ctl+C on xterm

Not sure if this is an issue, but maybe not expected behavior.

When running a Python GUI from a terminal like xterm, pressing Ctrl+C sends a SIGINT signal. If the GUI main loop doesn't catch this, it raises a KeyboardInterrupt, which can cause the app to exit "dirtily," leaving the terminal in an unresponsive state or causing the window to close.
