I have already made some experiments with particles in the old "jascii" tree (demo), but I'm not satisfied with the performance, especially in conjunction with garbage collection.
And I'm not yet sure on the final design of it yet, as i fear that my initial architecture might be far too complex. This is what I had in mind back then:
Anyway, let's continue the experiments and see what we might come up with.
