Connect to websocket

Hello, this is a bit more of a question than an actual feature request.
I'm developing an application which needs to be notified whenever data on ethercalc changes. Websocket is an ideal tool for this, and I see that it is already used.

However, I can't understand what URL I should connect to. Let's say I have a document https://ethercalc.net/foobar, how do I establish a websocket connection which will then give me updates whenever the document is changed?

You can open https://ethercalc.net/foobar in several broswers. everytime there is a change all connected browsers will get sent an update. Am not sure where the browser side JS is that sets things up, I guess you would need to pin it down and replicate something close to that. Unless you want a whole virtual browser, I think that is possible but have not looked into it.

There is a rest API, if you wanted a simple solution, you could pole for changes using the rest API.

The protocol is a bit surprising and not really documented, so I don't fully know what I'm doing: I just reverse engineered it. I think that having websocket is very nice, and that their availability should be documented.

The script I created allows me to create an "application" over ethercalc: people type their values in some cells, the application writes results and logs in other cells, and uses data typed by users as a sort of database.
