Add redirects from departmental site to here

To redirect from a page on the departmental site to a page here,

1. Visit and edit the page on the departmental site.
2. Expand the URL redirects in the right-hand side. For each entry, edit and replace the node target with the new URL.
3. Copy the URL alias in the right side page settings, then delete the page.
4. In the Drupal administration, visit Configuration > Search and metadata > URL redirects > Add redirect.
   a. For Path, Specify the URL alias copied earlier.
   b. For To, specify the full URL at computing.stat.berkeley.edu
5. Repeat the previous step, but for Path specify the URL alias from step 3, e.g. computing/something/something

This sounds tedious. Is this something we could ask one of the workstudy students to do?

Maybe. A workstudy wouldn't be able to handle the cases where the new URL is different from the old one. The difference between /computing/foo/something-web and /kb/web-bar wouldn't be obvious to them.

Searching the Drupal redirects for a From value of "computing" and a To value of "node" will show which pages are remaining to be converted to redirects. I imagine that once the top-level computing pages are converted, we can take our time with the child pages. There are about 100 pages and if one does 10 or so in one session it shouldn't take that long.

Automation would involve getting an agent to issue the right DELETE calls, but we still need a page mapping.
